Dr. Valerie L. Tatum has an extensive background in public education. She has both site and district experience having served as a teacher and principal. Her teaching and leadership experience encompasses high school, middle school and elementary school levels. This is her eighth year as superintendent of Covenant Keepers Charter School as she currently serves students in grades 6-8.
Prior to serving as superintendent of the charter school, Dr. Tatum worked with the Little Rock School District in many areas of education. In addition to working with the LRSD, she has worked as an Adjunct professor and Mathematics specialist.
Dr. Tatum earned her Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock and Master’s Degree from University of Central Arkansas in Conway. She later earned a Doctorate from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock; her dissertation focused on Women in Administration and Understanding Barriers and Constraints. She has presented at a number of conferences. Dr. Tatum continues to be impressed with the passion, vision, leadership, and the personal touch of the faculty and students of "The Covenant."

Dr. Tatum has retired as the Superintendent of Covenant Keepers Charter School effective September 28th, 2018. We would like to thank her for her many years of hard work and dedication to our students and the community.
