Environmental And Spatial Technology Initiative is an educational non-profit that oversees and trains for school programs, EAST, that operates primarily in the United States. It is unique for offering students and teachers professional technology and software for use in a loosely structured, self-driven environment. EAST students routinely receive training from accomplished professionals in the fields that they represent. Student training is primarily intended to educate students on technology groups while offering a team environment in which to learn. While slots are limited, an effort is made to accommodate all students who wish to attend. As of April, 2005, students have the following course options (taken from the EAST website).
Arkansas law recognizes that "students in Arkansas deserve the best education that the citizens can provide." This education must produce academically competent students who can demonstrate their competency in the core curriculum and who can apply their knowledge and skills.
Arkansas’ Learning Standards are defined in the Arkansas Curriculum Frameworks, which are discipline-based and clearly describe what students must know and be able to do in each academic content area. The rigorous academic content standards and the student learning expectations within each document provide the focus for instruction for each local school district, without rigidly prescribing every element of the local curriculum.
Student demonstration of the standards and learning expectations within the Arkansas Curriculum Frameworks is the anchor for the entire education system, with instructional programs, state-level assessments, professional development, school improvement planning, teacher/administrator licensure, and accountability sharing the common goal of improved student learning and performance around these standards.

Math: Curriculum modules in mathematics are marked by in-depth focus on fewer topics. They integrate rigorous classroom reasoning, extended classroom time devoted to practice and reflection through extensive problem sets, and high expectations for mastery. The time required to complete a curriculum module will depend on the scope and difficulty of the mathematical content that is the focus of the module. Each curriculum module continues to develop strategies and problem solving throughout the year, and includes materials to be used throughout the year for helping students reach fluency by the end of the year in various areas of mathematics.

Literacy: Expeditionary Learning includes 6 modules that focus on reading, writing, listening, and speaking in response to high-quality texts. Each module is intended to last a quarter of a school year; the addition of two extra modules allows for teacher choice throughout the year. Modules may include several units and each unit may include a set of sequenced, coherent progressions of learning experiences that build knowledge and understanding of major concepts. They will also include daily lesson plans, guiding questions, recommended texts, scaffolding strategies, examples of proficient student work, and other classroom resources.
